Jamie M. Kohen brings more than twenty years of combined experience as an Employment Lawyer, Managing Director, and Certified Executive Coach. She supports individuals and organizations navigating high-stakes transitions, culture change, and complex workplace scenarios. Jamie’s strengths lie in illuminating blind spots, creating space for growth, and delivering outcomes that build greater self-awareness, confidence, and organizational effectiveness.
“My goal is to help clients stay three steps ahead - to navigate business challenges, lead authentically, and drive organizational success.”
Before transitioning into executive coaching and workplace training, Jamie cultivated a distinguished career spanning over 13 years at JPMorgan Chase. As a Managing Director and Associate General Counsel, she guided multinational teams through complex workplace challenges. Her responsibilities ranged from managing litigation, developing and delivering comprehensive training programs, conducting thorough investigations, and meticulously crafting employee policies. Prior to her impactful tenure at JPMorgan Chase, Jamie honed her expertise as an employment counselor and litigator at several prominent US law firms, solidifying her deep understanding of employment law and workplace dynamics.
Jamie’s coaching focuses on helping clients to develop for themselves:
Her approach is deeply strategic - anchored in foresight and fueled by empathy and curiosity. Jamie’s legal background enhances her capacity to advise on high-stakes decisions and sensitive team dynamics.
Jamie has been practicing yoga since long before it became mainstream, valuing its balance of focus, resilience, and calm - qualities she tries to bring to both life and leadership. She enjoys jogging (not running!), travel, and giving back to her community. Jamie is actively involved with local nonprofits including the anti-hate organization the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), AWARE NYC (which partners with organizations supporting women and girls) and iCouldBe, a virtual mentoring program for teens from underserved communities.
